Ah, so much news lately.
A short preview of the the third Madoka Magica film, or Gekijō-ban Mahō Shōjo Madoka Magica Shinpen: Hangyaku no Monogatari (Puella Magi Madoka Magica New Feature: Rebellion Story) was aired on a Japanese morning show called Mezamashi Terebi. The trailer revealed that the movie will be premiering on the 26th of October.
Screencaps from the preview
The footage, which was available onYouTube earlier, has since been removed. Well, I’m sure it’ll turn up again sooner or later. AnimeNewsNetwork still carries a translation of Homura’s monologue/unanswered dialogue as well as the onscreen text in the preview. It doesn’t reveal any info I might consider ‘concrete’ with regards to the plot of the movie, which is set after the events covered by the television series . But I’m sure there will be many fans who will spend many hours speculating the meaning behind what was shown in the trailer while I try to restrain myself from spending hours reading all these speculations.
On a related note, the Oricon Style website revealed that ClariS and Kalafina will be providing the theme songs for the films:
No other details regarding the theme songs appear to be available at the moment. But I guess this means we can expect a brand-new single by each ClariS and Kalafina in the coming months.
No surprises here, really, given that both ClariS and Kalafina performed the theme songs for the Madoka TV series and the first two theatrical releases. But confirmation is always nice. More Kalafina is always nice, too.
